When the going gets tough… The tough get creative
Patrick Hoagland was laid off as a forklift operator at a metal recycling company in Phoenix. He filled out several online applications and even handed out resumes, but wasn’t getting any responses.
He printed 200 copies of his resume and started handing out resumes on the side of the road with a sign and a huge smile.
In an interview to CNN, Hoagland said:

I had only been unemployed a few weeks, but it was very unexpected and I needed to figure something out fast. I at first laughed and thought that was silly, but I kept thinking about it. I figured, why not?! There are millions of people in Phoenix driving around, someone might hire me.
His creativity and his resume soon found its way into social media and Hoagland received thousands of messages from business, recruiters, contractors and also good luck messages.
After several offers, Hoagland decided to accept an offer from Flatline Concrete Grinding in Phoenix.
